Automations turn your table into a system that acts on its own. Build no-code rules that watch for a change, like a status being set or a person being assigned, and respond by sending an email, posting to Slack or Discord, or updating a record.
Open the Automations panel from the table toolbar and click New automation. Give it a name that describes what it does, like "Notify owner on assignment", so a growing list stays readable.

Pick what starts the rule: a value is added (to a multi-select or person column), a single-select is set to a chosen option, a checkbox is checked, a new row is created, a comment is added, or a date is reached (a daily check for deadlines and reminders). Select the column the trigger watches.
Choose what happens: send an email (to the assignees, an address in a column, or a fixed recipient), post to Slack or Discord, call a webhook, update this record, or create a record in another table. Add several actions to run in order, and pipe row values into email text with {Column Name}.
Optionally add conditions so the rule only runs when, say, Priority is High. Enable the automation and it runs automatically from then on. Check the run log on the automation to confirm it fired and see any errors.
