Start from a table with a status column

Open a table that has a single-select column, or add one and name it Status. The options you define on that select column, for example To Do, In Progress, and Done, will become the columns of your board. Give each option a color so cards are easy to scan at a glance.

Add a Kanban view and group by status

Click the add-view button in the view tabs and choose Kanban. Pick the single-select column you want to group by. The board instantly arranges your records into columns, one per option, with each record shown as a card. Empty options still appear as columns, so you always have a place to drop cards.

Drag cards to update status

Drag any card from one column to another to change its status. The underlying record updates automatically, so the change shows up in the grid and every other view too. Click a card to open the full record and edit any other field. Add a new card directly from a column to create a record already set to that status.

Tips

• Color your status options so columns and cards are easy to read at a glance
• Keep the number of columns small, three to five stages, for the clearest board
• Switch back to the grid view at any time, the data is identical
• Add more than one view to a table instead of duplicating the table
